Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 1
INGREDIENTS
1 block firm tofu
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Chopped green onions, for garnish
Cooking spray or a small amount of oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Remove moisture from the tofu: place it between layers of paper towel and set something heavy on top. Let it drain for about 15–20 minutes.
Slice or cube the tofu according to your preference.
Prepare the glaze: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, rice vinegar, and cornstarch until smooth.
Coat the tofu pieces evenly with the glaze mixture.
Arrange the tofu on the lined tray in a single layer.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and lightly mist with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, turning the tofu halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
