Portobello Mushroom Burgers

INGREDIENTS
4 large portobello mushroom caps
Olive oil, for drizzling
Balsamic vinegar, for drizzling
Tamari or soy sauce, for drizzling
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
To Serve:
4 burger buns, toasted or warmed
Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Red onion slices
Pickles
Ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Wipe the mushroom caps clean and remove the stems.
Place them on a plate and drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and tamari.
Season with salt and pepper, coating both sides.
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
Cook the mushrooms, gill side up, for 5–7 minutes per side or until tender.
Place the mushrooms on the buns and add lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and condiments as desired.
